Catherine of Siena Lecture
This event is an exploration into how Catherine’s principles
can inform issues facing contemporary society. This year’s
lecturer is renowned theologian and author, Mary Catherine
Hilkert, O.P., associate professor at the University of Notre
Dame.
Hilkert specializes in contemporary
systematic theology and has a particular interest in theological
anthropology, fundamental theology and theological method, and
feminist theology and spirituality.
She has published extensively on the
relationship between theology and preaching, including her book
Speaking With Authority: Catherine of Siena and the Voices of
Women Today. Hilkert is a former member of the board of
directors of the Catholic Theological Society of America. She
was awarded the Sophia Award for Theological Excellence in
Service to Ministry by the Washington Theological Union in 1997.
